Bruidsjurken, kostuums, tiara's, ringkussens, parfums, boeketten en taarten zijn slechts een kleine greep uit datgene wat allemaal te bewonderen is tijdens de Love & marriage beurs.
The Salsuri foundation was brought to life in October 2004 with the initial idea to organize Surinam’s first Salsa Festival in November 2005. This would also highlight Surinam’s 30th year of independence on November 25th.
The Surifesta Foundation is the organization that is the lobby group for the festivities concerning “Owruyari” (the end of the year parties and New Year’s Eve).
Jazz has been extremely popular in the fifties and sixties in the previous century. Not only in Europe or North America but also in Suriname. A country that boasts a rich culture, which comprises African, Asian and other interesting elements. The immense popularity of Jazz music in Suriname has inspired the founders of the Suriname Jazz Festival to organize this yearly event.
Tijdens de festivals wordt er ook aandacht besteed aan educatie. Er worden verschillende workshops gegeven waarbij filmmakers zich verder kunnen bekwamen in hun vak en geïnteresseerden kennis kunnen maken met film- en televisiemaken. Voor scholieren is er een scholenprogramma waarbij ze door middel van films en speciaal ontwikkeld lesmateriaal een bepaald thema behandelen.
